Frequently asked questions
How do I arrange an appointment?
Appointments can be booked by contacting LG Dietetics directly. This can be done using the enquiry form on the contact page or by emailing livgensale.rd@outlook.com.
What is a pre-screening call?
This is a phone call to discuss any questions you may have before arranging an appointment. This may be to check that we can support with your specific health concerns or goals or may be to discuss the logistics of arranging an appointment. This is a complimentary service.
Fees and payments
Please see the dedicated fees page to find out more about our prices for self-funding and insurance information.
If you are insured, you will require a pre-authorisation code to be provided at the time of appointment booking.
If you are self-funding, fees are payable within 72 hours of receiving an invoice unless otherwise agreed. Payment should be made at least 60 minutes before the start of a scheduled appointment. If payment is not received, LG Dietetics has the right to cancel the appointment.
Payment methods will be provided at the time of booking or invoicing.
Cancellation policy
We understand that you may need to cancel or rearrange your appointment. If this is the case, please provide at least 24 hours' notice.
If you decide to cancel your appointment and give 24 hours or more notice, a full refund will be provided.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, or missed appointments will be charged at the full appointment fee.
Late attendance
If you are running late, please let us know by emailing livgensale.rd@outlook.com.
We will wait for 15 minutes from the start time of your appointment. Longer than 15 minutes, without prior notice, will be considered as a missed appointment and will be charged at the full appointment fee.
If you arrive late, the consultation may need to finish at the scheduled time to avoid delays for other patients. The full appointment fee will still apply.
Do I need a referral?
No, although a pre-appointment screening call will be arranged to ensure that we are the best fit for you. We want to make sure we feel able to help!
How do I prepare for my first appointment?
Keeping a 3-day food and symptom diary can be very beneficial and save valuable time during your appointment.
If you have other previous clinic letters (not from the referrer, which we should have) or recent blood test results, then please feel free to send them in advance or have them available for the appointment.
Writing down any key questions you have or things you would like to discuss can make sure the appointment meets all of your needs.
A summary will be sent to you, but some people find that taking notes during the appointment can be helpful, and so pen/paper or notes app virtually can be helpful
How many appointments will I need?
No two people are the same, and the number of appointments will depend on the medical condition and individual goals. Some choose to have 1-2 appointments and others prefer ongoing support. This can be discussed and reviewed together during your initial consultantion.
What if I'm not sure you're the right dietitian for me?
We offer an initial telelphone call to discuss this before you arrange a full consultation. If we feel we are not the best person to support you (i.e. if your condition falls outside of the scope of practice) then we will be more than happy to refer you on/signpost if appropriate.
Can you send my clinical letter or resources in the post?
Yes, absolutely! Please let us know if you wish to receive correspondence in the post rather than via email.
